The Postdoctoral International Exchange Program of China Western Overseas Postdoc Innovation Demonstration Center aims to attract excellent international young researchers holding a PhD degree pursuing postdoctoral research in China Western Overseas Postdoc Innovation Demonstration Center, which is established in Xi’an Jiaotong University.  

This program is set up by the Office of China Postdoc Council (OCPC) and Xi’an Jiaotong University, and it will support 60 postdoctoral fellows in 2020. The selected candidates would be co-funded for 200,000 RMB/year (for 2 to 4 years).

A. Requirements

(1) The applicants shall be under 35 years old with good moral character and good health.

(2) The applicants shall be foreign nationality or overseas Chinese students,  who have obtained a doctoral degree within the recent three years.

(3) The applicants shall have obtained their doctoral degrees from a university in the Global Top 100 University list; or the discipline of PhD degree is ranked in the Top 100 discipline list (checking the latest information from Shanghai Ranking's Academic Ranking of World Universities, Times Higher Education World University Ranking, QS World University Ranking and U.S.News & World Report as reference). Applicants from countries along “the Belt and Road”, shall graduate with doctoral degrees from top 10 universities in their country, or their doctoral discipline is ranked in the top 10 discipline list of their country.

(4) The applicants shall have excellent academic achievements before applying for the program.

(5) Applicants from non-English speaking countries must have sufficient proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing of Chinese or English.

(6) Postdoctoral researchers have been in the research station for less than 6 months before university file with the OCPC can apply for this program.

(7) The applicants shall have not yet been supported by OCPC international postdoctoral fellow program or postdoctoral innovative talents supporting program.

B. How to Apply

Before September 2020, individual can apply any time, university will organize selection by following “apply first decide first”.

(1)Submit the application materials to school, including application form and other supporting materials, as follows:

➡Valid ID

➡Certificate of doctoral degree or Verification of passing doctorate defense. Applicants are allowed to submit applications before graduation, but have to provide Certificate of doctoral degree when joining the research station.

➡Supporting materials for research work and academic achievements listed in the application form.

C. Application Timeline

The university will complete selection before Sept 1st, and file with OCPC on June 15th and Sept 15th.
